and baffles

Initially designed as a solution to control drum noise on stage, our product range has been extended and is now widely used in both stage and studio environments to control individual levels and for general room treatments.

  • Clearsonic acrylic panels work to control sound levels by redirecting the sound away from microphones and audiences.

  • Multiple panels are joined together with a full length flexible hinge to create a continuous screen between loud sound sources and the areas you wish to protect. The hinge system folds out like an accordion, which allows the screen to form a free-standing arc requiring no additional support but also allows the screen to be folded flat for storage.

In addition to their incredible flexibility, Clearsonic hinges are also extremely durable allowing the screen to be repositioned or packed away time and time again without the hinges breaking and the unique locking groove holds the hinges firmly on to the panels.

The panels are available in a variety of sizes and all feature cable cut-outs at the bottom to enable leads to pass under the screen without damage. Panels can also be purchased individually as replacements or extensions but are usually supplied with hinges as a pre-assembled screen.

In addition to the standard panels the Clearsonic range also includes height extenders (AX series) which can be attached to the top of 2' wide panels to add additional height to the screen. A5 panels are also available with an abrasion resistant coating (3M™ 906) to prevent scratching but are only available on a custom order with extended delivery time.

  • A5 panels are 5½' x 2' (~1.68 x 0.61m)

A5 panels are the most common panels system used to isolate drums. Their height allows them to cover cymbals, and reduce more sound than the A4 panels.

The A5-5 is the most common set-up for a standard 5-piece drum kit, and usually goes half way around the kit. Larger kits may require the use of an A5-6 or A5-7. The A5 panels are also used extensively in our IsoPacs.

  • A5-6 6 panel screen (6 panels 5 hinges, pre-assembled)
  • A5-5 5 panel screen (5 panels 4 hinges, pre-assembled)
  • A5-4 4 panel screen (4 panels 3 hinges, pre-assembled)
  • A5-3 3 panel screen (3 panels 2 hinges, pre-assembled)
  • A5-2 2 panel extension (2 panels 2 hinges, pre-assembled)
  • A5-1 1 panel extension (1 panel 1 hinge)
  • AR5-5 5 section scratch-resistant screen (5 panels 4 hinges, pre-assembled)

  • A4 panels are 4' x 2' (~1.22 x 0.61m)

4' panels are useful for reducing stage volume when cymbals are not a concern, as the A4 panels don't usually cover them. A4 panels are easy to move because of their height and can also be used around percussion, horns, strings, etc.
  • A4-7 7 panel screen (7 panels 6 hinges, pre-assembled)
  • A4-6 6 panel screen (6 panels 5 hinges, pre-assembled)
  • A4-5 5 panel screen (5 panels 4 hinges, pre-assembled)
  • A4-4 4 panel screen (4 panels 3 hinges, pre-assembled)

  • A4-2 2 panel extension (2 panels 2 hinges, pre-assembled)
  • A4-1 1 panel extension (1 panel 1 hinge)

  • A3 panels are 3' x 2' (~0.91 x 0.61m)

The A3 panels are commonly used on speaker cabinets. Everything from a small 1x8 combo amp to a 4x12 half-stack will fit in an A3 enclosure.
  • A3-3 3 panel screen (3 panels 2 hinges, pre-assembled
  • A3-2 2 panel extension (2 panels 2 hinges, pre-assembled)
  • A3-1 1 panel extension (1 panel 1 hinge)

ClearSonic products can be used to make a variety of different size enclosures for guitar amplifiers. The example on this page is suitable for a small combo amp, or speaker cabinet. The enclosure uses the A2-4 amp shield, and Sorber absorption baffles to soak up reflected sound.

ClearSonic products are modular, and can be used in many different combinations. Please call us to discuss your specific needs and we can tailor a system to meet your needs.
  • A2-4 4 panel screen (4 panels 3 hinges, pre-assembled)

  • A18 panels are 2' x 1½' (~0.61 x 0.46m)

ClearSonic products can be used to make a variety of different size enclosures for guitar amplifiers. The photo on this page shows an enclosure suitable for many standard combo amps, or 2x12 speaker cabinets.

Other enclosures can be created using a combination of A18 panels, A3 Panels and Sorber Baffles. This versatile range is perfect for isolating amplifiers.
  • A18 (Customisable to fit)
  • A18-4 4 panel screen (4 panels 3 hinges, pre-assembled)
  • A18-6 6 panel screen (6 panels 5 hinges, pre-assembled)

  • AX series height extenders use a ‘H’ channel to attach to the top of any of the 2' panels to provide additional height when fitting a lid. The AX12 and AX18 provide an additional 12? and 18? of height respectively and both come with hinges allowing the entire screen to be folded up with the extenders still attached.

The AX2 provides and additional 2? of height and is useful when using A5 & S5 panels with a lid and without AX12 or AX18 height extenders. Because the A5 is 65.5? high and the S5-2 is 67? high, the AX2 is used to increase the height of the A5 panels to 67.5?. This increases the height of the clear panels enough that the lid panels resting on the A5 will clear the S5-2 baffles. That way, any of the S5-2 baffles can be used as a door.

  • This shield was built to Joe's specifications. It is the perfect size for cabinets and combos with 4-12' or 4-10" speakers, but works great with smaller amps as well. The world renowned blues guitarist designed this screen to work with his 4x12 Half Stack Amplifiers allowing very easy access to the controls on the head of the amplifier without letting out any excess sound.
